The wiring circuits in your vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses, circuit breakers, and fusible thermal links.. This greatly reduces the chance of fires caused by electrical problems.. If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse.. Be sure you replace a bad fuse with a new one of the identical size and rating.. Fuses of the same amperage can be temporarily borrowed from another fuse location if a fuse goes out.. Replace the fuse as soon as you can.. Before replacing a fuse check that the key has been removed from the ignition and that all the services are switched off and/or disengaged.. Do not repair fuses and never replace a blown fuse with one that has a higher amp rating.. Never replace a broken fuse with anything other than a new fuse.. Chevrolet Silverado Vortec 4.8L V8 Engine Oil Change & Filter Replacement Guide - 2007 To 2013 Model Years ›
How to change the motor oil and replace the oil filter on a 2nd generation GM Chevy Silverado 1500 truck with the Vortec 4800 4.8 liter V8 engine.
Insert the. automotive funnel in to the oil filler hole at the front left (passenger. side) of the engine.Pour in about 5. quarts of the Vortec 4800 engine's 6 quart total capacity for an oil change. with oil filter replacement.. It is far better to have a little less than. enough oil in the engine than too much oil.. Temporarily replace the oil filler cap and. push down the oil level dipstick.. Start the engine, let it idle for a few. minutes, shut off the engine, and allow it to rest for 5-10 minutes while. the oil drains back to the oil pan.. Slowly. add in the remaining quart of new oil until the level on the dipstick. reaches at or just below the top of the cross hatched area.. You may not need to use the entire 6 quarts. of new oil depending on how long you allowed the old oil to drain out.. (Note - The 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L and 6.2L V8. engines all require 6 quarts (5.7L) of new SAE 5W-30 oil for an oil change with filter. replacement.. The 4.3 V6 engine requires 4.5 quarts (4.3L) of oil.). It's also a good. idea to watch your driveway, garage or parking spot for drops of oil and check the. oil level on the dipstick during the next few days.
Are you searching for how to clean mass air flow sensor chevy silverado then you are at the right place, we have step by step easy guide for you.
The MAF sensor located on your Chevy Silverado is used to measure how much air is passing through the sensor.. After you have cleaned your mass airflow sensor, it’s time to reconnect the wire mesh and replace the MAF sensor to its place under the air filter box.. If your MAF sensor is dirty, you will not only see the symptoms listed above but also a CEL (check engine light) on your vehicle’s dashboard.. If the mass airflow sensor is dirty, it will not provide a smooth amount of air to your engine and this can cause idling problems such as rough idling or idling that struggles to keep up.. This happens because your vehicle’s computer cannot determine how much air the engine needs if they are not receiving enough air from the mass airflow sensor.. Keep in mind that if your MAF sensor is dirty, it can cause problems like CEL (check engine light) on the dashboard, poor fuel economy, and many others where you’ll be forced to take your vehicle into a repair shop. Cleaning the MAF sensor helps an engine run smoothly and efficiently by providing a smooth flow of air to it.. The exact amount of air needed by the engine is determined by the MAF sensor which feeds the information to the powertrain control module (PCM) or electronic control unit (ECU) which then calculates the amount of fuel that needs to be injected into the engine.. If there’s a dirty MAF sensor, it will result in incorrect air/fuel ratio calculations which can cause serious problems such as poor fuel economy, CEL (check engine light) on the dashboard, hesitation when accelerating to higher speeds, and many more.. This of course means that if the sensor is dirty, it will not be able to provide an accurate amount of air and this can cause problems such as poor fuel economy, CEL(check engine light) on the dashboard, stalling when accelerating, etc.. First of all, you should clean the MAF sensor because it can be simply cleaned by using compressed air.

Fuel pump flow control module replacement 1500/2500, sierra 1500/2500) was never replaced by the dealer, vehicle stalled while driving, almost lost control while driving due to the engine stall.. Upon taking the vehicle to the dealership to get a diagnostic, the service writer informed me they have had quite a few vehicles with the same engine come in for misfire issues, usually resulting in fuel injectors being replaced or the fuel pump.. Hi this truck has been a nightmare worst truck I ever owned I have sunk over 5k into it in repairs the air bag service light went on over a year ago wen I first got the truck my garage told me there were recalls on it I took it to a dealer they fixed 1 but refused to fix the air bag recall light my garage told me its unsafe and dealer should repair my garage sed metal could kill me and bag could go off at any time I took the truck to spurr chevy in brockport and hartway chevey in medina as well as chevy dealer in rochester and batavia all told me there is no fix and to keep driving I did and things just got worse I keep getting stranded and the truck looses power because the constant warning service air bag light I had to call aaa and get towed a bunch and get jump starts I have a 18 month old child this truck is not safe and this is effecting the trucks computer the complete muffler from engine back including converters was replaced at dealer by previous owner passed inspection first year I had it now it will not pass get messages like ecm not communication codes for dealer etc I took it to dealer in brockport they reset computer codes were clear for 2 hours by time I got to inspection shop all codes were back this thing is dangerous I smell odd electric smell by air bag almost like something burning and another problem I had the damb wheel berings on both sides went the one side started making a noise I tried to get home turned on to my rd and the whole front wheel break rotor and all lugs came off with bearing I went skidding 400 feet down the road the dam bearing is just pressed in when they go the whole front falls off you can not steer I have fixed everything on this truck and still not safe to drive new breaks rotors pads tires rims fuel pump sending unit all new ac all new exahust everything is new but the dam air bag is malfunctioning I and.. Additionally, a small number of 2007-2012 model year vehicles that include; 2008-2013 Chevrolet avalanche, 2008-2009 Chevrolet colorado vehicles; 2007-2013 Chevrolet silverado, 2008-2014 suburban, and tahoe vehicles; 2008-2013 GMC sierra and 2009-2012 yukon vehicles; 2008-2009 GMC canyon vehicles; 2009-2010 hummer h2, h3 and h3t vehicles; and 2008-2009 Saturn vue and 2009 outlook vehicles may have been serviced with a chassis electronic module that could have internal contamination, causing an electrical short in the module.. Hello, I got a check engine light and found the code is for "low flow, check fuel control module, fuel pump".. It is model year truck and the exact part number of the control module but the local dealer advised gm does not list my VIN as being involved, even though my truck is listed in the model year bulletin and it is the exact part number for all vehicles!!. The dealer also stated that the fuel pump control module failed, but the vehicle was not repaired for the failure.. It's a fuel problem but don't know what fuel pump it is or if it's the fuel pressure regulator.. The vehicle was being driven by my son when service engine light came on and I then used my actron scan tool and pulled 3x codes from the computer (ecu) codes related to the fuel pump control module , and trailer brake warning light appeared on the instrument cluster cleared these codes.. But 3x days later the truck failed to start this time with computer scan tool in hand I checked the fuel pump pressure, the truck had no fuel pump pressure.. While the vehicle was stationary, the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump fuse were experiencing failures.. An independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with a fuel pump module failure.. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle's fuel pump was leaking and it needed to be replaced.. The contact stated that the vehicle randomly would not start upon turning the key in the ignition and there was a warning light flashing for the fuel pump.
